Only if you run The Sims 4 will the screen response seem slower than usually running MacOS programs that are not games. Not running The Sims 4 lets your non-gaming laptop run normally.
Unless it's running, it will not slow your machine down. It will, of course, take up storage space on the drive, if that's important to you. And the program may not run at its best on that machine.

So i have an imac 2008 and i use a OS patcher to run the newest mac versions, and on sierra and high sierra the computer is fast and flawless and feels like a new computer but when i go to mojave its kinda slow and sluggish, why?
